Their mission is to strengthen the literacy and the employability of residents of Hilton Head by providing people with the skills and training to be successful in the family, workplace, and community.
We are excited to say that our collective donations of $16,772 went to Second Helpings.
Second Helpings is a nonprofit food rescue and distribution network striving to eliminate hunger in the South Carolina Lowcountry. they collect and distribute food which would have otherwise ended up in landfills.
They supply 55 nonprofit food pantries, soup kitchens, agencies and churches in Beaufort, Hampton and Jasper counties. Feeding more than 19,000 hungry people in our community every week. Many of them work in the hospitality industry, making our paradise possible for local residents and visitors.
Our donations will be used for those in the Hilton Head community.
Join us in congratulating our January 2021 recipients. Our amazing group of women donated $15,400 to Backpack Buddies of Hilton Head. We are happy to support their mission of providing nutritious, child-friendly food for school children to take home over the weekend and older children to have during the week.
Good nutrition is essential for a growing child’s physical and mental health. Hungry children have difficulty concentrating on schoolwork and fighting common illnesses. Those who are food-insecure develop a “fear of hunger” that impacts their behavior as much as physical hunger affects their bodies.

We are so proud that we have been able to continue our mission of giving. COVID has not stopped us. Empowered women working together. The Children's Center is the recipient of our collective donations! The Children’s Center, Inc. is a unique not-for-profit organization that provides working families affordable and accessible early childhood education and childcare services. The Children’s Centers’ multicultural, bilingual early childhood education program is provided five days a week, year-round.
The COVID epidemic has created even greater need in our community. We are so happy to provide Sandalwood Community Food Pantry $16,300 to help serve the hungry and the needy on Hilton Head Island, SC. They provide food, love, dignity and spiritual guidance.
In light of the circumstances during the pandemic, we made a decision to make our collective donation to the Lowcountry Community COVID-19 Response Fund. The fund was developed to rapidly deploy resources to community-based nonprofit and equivalent organizations in Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Japser Counties that are addressing the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked that our $9000 donations be used for the Hilton Head organizations awarded grants.
The H.O.P.E. Life Cancer Recovery Fund was created to provide resources, wellness services, and a place for Thrivers and their families to learn, live, and enjoy life before, during and after cancer treatment. We were honored to present them with our collective donations.

SOAR is committed to supporting people with disabilities in their pursuit to live, play, and participate in the community. Their mission is to enhance the lives of many Hilton Head individuals with disabilities by providing Special Olympics sports and recreation as well as programs which facilitate social interaction.
We are thrilled to contribute to such a meaningful cause.
SOAR - Special Recreation of the Lowcountry
We begin our 5th year by awarding The Gullah Museum of Hilton Head Island $17,300.73 to assist in their mission to revive, restore and preserve the Hilton Head Island Gullah history for the benefit of all – lest we forget.
Since 2003, Louise Miller Cohen has been the founder and director of the nonprofit Gullah Museum of Hilton Head Island. Years ago, Ms. Cohen said that she kept reading that the Gullah language and lifestyle were becoming “extinct”. She stepped out of what she calls her “shell of shame” and began to share her Gullah culture with others to ensure the Gullah/Geechee culture will be preserved forever.
